The Institute for In Vitro Sciences is a non-profit, technology driven, foundation dedicated to the advancement of alternative test methods. To meet these goals the Institute:

• Provides non-animal research and testing services
• Sponsors workshops and training courses in in vitro methods
• Actively participate in outreach programs that provide education, and scientific and technical counsel on emerging issues including alternative methods validation and implementation in the US and Europe.

These activities serve to create a forum where Industry, Government and Animal Welfare proponents can meet to determine constructive programs which effectively reduce animal use.

SCIENCE: Rigorous science is the foundation for every activity at IIVS. Using new technology, IIVS provides innovative tests that predict product safety and effectiveness. Our international clients include makers of cosmetic, pharmaceutical, personal care, and household products.

EDUCATION: As a leader in in vitro testing, IIVS recognizes the value of sharing knowledge. While keeping confidentiality a priority, IIVS scientists share their unique perspective and expertise regarding the use and application of in vitro methods. Our scientists host workshops, publish manuscripts, and speak at scientific conferences giving others the tools they need to help advance the field.

OUTREACH: Outreach is the culmination of our scientific and educational efforts. We use highly focused interactions with government agencies, animal protection groups, industry, and academia to increase acceptance of in vitro testing.
