FutureTox II will address progress and advances toward a paradigm where improvements to predictivity and concordance are based on in vitro/in silico approaches. Automated high-throughput screening (HTS) of large chemical inventories across an array of molecular targets, concentrations, and cellular responses are now providing vast amounts of data that can be used to inform regulatory toxicity testing. These data, together with newer in vitro methodologies and high-content screening (HCS), can potentially deliver faster, cheaper, and more nimble assessments of chemical biology for discovery-screening and prioritization efforts.
